Distorted View and Pedophilia
It has been brought to my attention that a written text describing sexual acts between children does not, shockingly enough, meet the legal definition of Child Pornography.

Despite the fact that Computer Generated Imagery DOES meet the legal definition of Child Pornography, a written text, or a recording of a voice reading that text, does not.

It would be an understatement to say that I'm shocked by this legal loophole, and I plan to write my congressman on this matter.

As a result of this legal loophole, I will be cease referring to "Tim Henson" as a Pedophile and cease using the term in reference to his Podcast, "Distorted View."

I have not removed or edited the old entries where I used the term, because doing so would be construed by many as an attempt to "Whitewash" the past.

I did not use the term hostilely, or with any attempt to defame "Tim Henson" but did so in what I believed at the time to be an accurate manner.

I would like to reiterate that I believe that Tim Henson's program meets a MORAL definition of Pedophilia and that it SHOULD be illegal to read such stories, but that is a fight I will not pursue at this time.

This does NOT however mean I will back down from efforts to get "Distorted View" shut down. It's still filled with morally apprehensible content that should NOT be available to minors, and I intend to continue fighting the program.

I love your stance on the situation now. It's not technically illegal, but now it should be "morally illegal." Way to go sir...want to change your mind again? Oh wait, you've already done that about three times since starting this dispute.

Might I add that Distorted View is NOT a pedophilia podcast. It's not like Tim is on every fucking second of the show jerking off about little kids. The story was a SCIENCE FICTION PORNOGRAPHY STORY. If you are really doing your research (like you did so well with the legality of the story...dumbass), you would know that NONE of the stories he reads are intentionally sexually arousing. In fact most of them are pretty revolting. The point of these stories are to glorify the absurdity and hilarity, and hopefully get people to *gasp* LAUGH.

But again, you probably did not know that seeing as you are 0/3 in the research category.

Keep it up, you fucking loser. Your sorry attempts at banning Tim have only lead to more listeners. You're only making us stronger.

NO. The real reason you will not go back and removed or edited the old entries where you used the term is because there goes 90% of your blog!! Pedophilia is a very small portion of the show.

And another thing, why does Tim joking about Pedophilia bother you so much??? HMM... Could it be YOU feel this way about kids and the only way to make your self feel good it to try and get someone else in trouble?? Thats what it sounds like to me!! Again, there are REAL pedophilia sites out there. Why are you so hung up on this one Podcast?? Why don't you try to do something about all the pornographic popups that spawn from so many commercial websites out there? That's a lot easier for a kid to stumble upon than a Podcast, which:
1) You have to go through a warning page to get to
2) You probably have to have at least GLANCED at some of the text on the main page, which briefly outlines the basic content of the episode
3) Are you not getting it by now?? At this point, it's up to the parents to monitor what their devious little angels are doing online. You can't censor the entire Internet. That's why they put out all those PSAs warning parents about all the adult content that's out there.

So, to recap:
1) It's kind of hard to "accidentally" download and listen to this Podcast.
2) Parents should be teaching their kids what they feel is acceptable for them to listen to/look at online, and then either trust that their kids actually learned something from them or put filters on their Internet connection.
3) Why spoil a good time for the rest of us who know what we're doing? We shouldn't have to cater to the lowest common denominator, i.e. the idiot kids who apparently click every link and download everything they come across without reading anything.

Chill out. I am a fan of the Distorted View podcast and I also have a 7 and a half month old son. If Tim and my son were in the same room, I would not be freaking out, worrying that he would do something to him. What Tim even admits to on his show is to not take anything seriously and that he really does't mean what he says. They are JOKES. Sick jokes, but jokes nonetheless. I can respect your feelings on this show and how you may see it, but you obviously haven't REALLY listened to the show.

I am a freak. I have been for nearly a year now. I'm also a female listener.

I love listening to DV, despite the constant degrading comments Tim voices against women on his podcast. I don't care, because I know that what Tim says isn't what he really means. Just because he says 'The bitch probably deserved it.', doesn't mean he actually approves and encourages abuse.

You look too far into these sort of matters. There are other matters that you should (or, after this obsession with shutting down DV, SHOULDN'T) be focusing your attention on.

I'm Christian. But I don't want to be. After meeting and running into people like you, I'm ashamed to be a Catholic. I don't want to go to church and have beliefs and ideals and opinions pressed onto me. I have my own I wish to follow. Some of my best friends are Islamic, but I don't see them or their families bombing the local Wal-Mart anytime soon. You think that just because a certain few of a race does something, they're all like that.

And by the way, 'Ban Islamic'? Doesn't God and Jesus and whoever say to respect and be conscious of other people's religions, thoughts, ideals, ect...? Isn't stating 'Ban Islamic!' doing exactly the opposite? Before you say "speak out against the un-Christian influences being forced on our children and country.", you might want to take a look at what influence you're showing.

And the 'War on Terrorism' Is stupid and pointless, just like your attempt to ban DV. Set your priorities straight, donate to cancer funds and world hunger instead of bad-mouthing a podcast that was originally made for people to set aside their morals for half an hour and laugh.

That's the end of my rant. You'll probably never read this, but I felt it need to be said.

You are protected by the first amendment, true. However, DV fans are allowed just as much to object to your opinions. The only way they could violate your rights would be to take you off of Livejournal.

Does this sound familiar? Perhaps with a particular podcast?

You cannot see the underlying sarcasim, irony and disgust that Tim Henson has for peadaphiles. He is totally against it, but he has chosen to laugh and mock these disturbed individuals. He is not a peadaphile, he does not advocate the gay rape of minors, he is instead against it, and if you cannot see this then your brain hasn't evolved to understand tones in people voices etc. This is a common trait of autism.

This, Alexander is exactly what is wrong with society today. People, such as this Tim Henson fellow, are destroying humanity by feeding these awful ideas into people's heads. This radio show is nothing but dirty, racist, hilarious, sadistic, sexist trash. We must stop the show at once! By putting an end to the Distorted View Daily, we can accomplish many things. I, for one, will have a half an hour everyday with absolutely nothing to do. I'll also have more room on my ipod for songs that I'll never listen to anyway. As for the rest of the world, seeing the end of this podcast will end all pedophilia, rape, violent crimes, muslims, and crazy-ethnic-people.
People need to learn how to take everything seriously. Nothing is merely a joke. Think of all the things people can do without satirical, comic relief; teaching their neighbor's kids how to masturbate, for example. Hey, at least they would be taught to do it to themselves rather than classmates.
In conclusion, I would like to say you are an inspirational person, and you make my deek ge' hwaaard.

ok yes i agree pedophielia is wrong but the "Distorted View Dailly" podcast is light entertainment. it also comes with a disclaimer saying that if you are under aged that you should not listen but as underage people it is in their nature to be curious and want to listen.

i would like to point out that you keep listening to the podcast like you have a vendetta against it.

also your doing the podcast a favor by advertising it in your blogs.

finally quit being a "by the book" cristian and realise that its a fucking FAIRY TALE that was written more than 2000 years ago
